The GE Fanuc EPXMBE101 adapter module is a variant of the EPXMBE001 adapter and it supports Modbus dual LAN operation. This feature enables the adapter module to communicate with 2 independent networks. The Modbus LAN mode on the adapter module is appropriate for communication with 2 control units that are synchronized on 2 separate LANs. Both control units can therefore have complete write and read access. The EPXMBE101 adapter module supports an extended operating temperature range. The high speed bus on the adapter enables it to read 256 digital input or outputs within 20 milliseconds. The EPXMBE101 adapter module mounts vertically on a DIN Rail. A USB port on the adapter can be used to configure it from a web server. The same USB port can be used for firmware updates and for accessing diagnostic data.
The extended operating temperature range supported by the GE Fanuc EPXMBE101 network adapter module is from -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. GE Fanuc recommends taking a variety of precautions and security measures when working with this module. These include the use of firewalls for limiting the exposure of control systems to other networks, the application of latest GE security updates, the application of all the latest operating system security patches, and the disabling of unused ports and services. The main power supply of the system is integrated into the EPXMBE101 adapter module. The power to the adapter is supplied through two 4-pole connectors. The input voltage range is 20.4 to 28.8 Volts DC. The recommended wire size for use with the EPXMBE101 adapter module should be AWG 26 to 16. The adapter dimensions are 120 x 52 x 76 millimeters. The non-condensing relative humidity range for the safe operation of the EPXMBE101 adapter module is from 5 to 95%.
