The EP-291F output module is one of the specialty modules manufactured by GE Fanuc for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) systems. It is a digital output module designed for use with the PACSystems RSTi-EP I/O network adapters which are the head modules for the RSTi remote I/O systems. It is a high-density, compact module with 1-wire technology that is primarily used to integrate decentralized actuators. The EP-291F digital output module has 16 discrete output channels with negative logic. It also has an output rating of 24 Volts DC. The maximum output current of each discrete output is 0.5 Amps per channel and 8 Amps per module. Up to 4 discrete outputs can be connected to each channel. The output module has 1 module status LED and each channel has its own channel status LED for easy diagnostics and error identification. The output current path (IOUT) provides power to the output circuits of the modules as well as to the connected actuators.
The GE Fanuc EP-291F digital output module is a high-density, high-performance specialty module, and it is mainly used to incorporate decentralized actuators to meet specific system needs. The specialty modules have special functions in a PLC I/O system such as functions as Serial Communications, High-Speed Counters, Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI), Digital PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), and PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) Auto Tuning modules. The EP-291F digital output module uses a spring-style connector system for easy wiring. The module has a small form factor and it is only 11.5 millimeters in width, making it very user-friendly and easy to install. Its hot swapping support allows it to be turned off independently without disrupting the whole system. It can be easily installed on a DIN Rail as per the EN 60715 standard.
