The EP-1901 input module is a safe input module that has been designed by GE Fanuc Automation and that has been included in the RSTI-EP series of digital input and output devices. This module comes with a delayed disconnection option whose main objective is to connect safety-related equipment. This module is controlled through the use of a contact-based safety transducer with an output signal switching device. This module comes with input sensors that are independently supplied via separate voltage paths. These input sensors report directly to the control unit. The GE Fanuc Automation EP-1901 safe input module can operate with an automatic or a manual start. The manual starts require that the start button be pressed for a specific length of time before the module starts working.
The GE Fanuc Automation EP-1901 safe input module installation process is optimized by the module’s color-coded wiring connectors that make the wiring process clear and straightforward. It is recommended to position the module horizontally on a DIN Rail, although a vertical mounting position is possible too under the right circumstances. For safety, the module must be allowed to de-energize for at least 10 seconds after it has been shut down and disconnected from the power before any maintenance activity is performed on it. The GE Fanuc Automation EP-1901 safe input module comes with a wire breakage and a short-circuit detection mechanism, and a double-click installation mechanism that makes it easy to install the module correctly. This module supports an indirect firmware update through the network adapter by using the web server. This module comes with one safe-feed input that operates with a 24 Volts DC rated power supply. The data transfer rate is 48 Mbits per second.
