The EP-1813 module is an 8-channel, 16-Bytes input power measurement module from the GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms. It is part of the Analog Inputs series. It is used to monitor and calculate vital data for the regulation of electrical power systems in power grids.

The EP-1813 analog input module is part of the GE Intelligent Platforms' high-performance PACSystems (Programmable Automation Controller) RSTi-EP family of I/O modules. It offers high-performance, long-term control and communication solutions and it is simple to configure, manage, and upgrade. The EP-1813 input module is a 16-bytes analog input module with 8 discrete input channels. Its supply voltage ranges from 20.4 to 28.8 Volts. A single sensor can be connected to each connector via a 2-wire, 3-wire, or 4-wire (3-wire plus functional earth) connection. It is a specialty type of module that is used in a PLC I/O system for power measurement. Specialty modules in an I/O system perform specific functions such as high-speed counter, frequency measurement, and serial communications functions, and they are also referred to as functional modules. These functional modules provide the link between programmable controllers and devices that require special types of signals (analog or digital).

GE Fanuc power measurement modules like the EP-1813 analog input module are used to monitor and calculate vital data for the regulation of electrical power systems in power grids. These modules are connected to the current and potential transformers that are supplied by the user that convert power grid signals into proportional, low-level signals for measurement and analysis. The power measurement module is made up of 3 components which are a processing module that plugs into the PLC internal data bus, an interface module for field wiring, and cables that link these 2 modules. A DIN-rail-mounted EP-1813 input module measures electrical data in 3-phase power supply systems remotely from the control level. It features a compact design (120 millimeters high x 11.5 millimeters wide x 76 millimeters deep) that helps reduce panel space requirements.
