The GE Fanuc IC200CBL605 Expansion Cable is a single-ended RJ-45 to RS-484 inter-rack expansion cable that is made for the GE Versamax Isolated Expansion Receiver Modules. This cable belongs to the GE Versamax cables and accessories product line. The isolated expansion receiver module known as the IC200ERM001 module is designed to connect to an existing expansion transceiver module installed on a previous rack, to any Versamax NIU I/O station, to a Versamax Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), to an expansion transmitter module, and to I/O modules by using the 5-meter IC200CBL605 Expansion Cable or another cable in the same product line depending on the application requirements. By using the IC200CBL605 Expansion Cable, up to 7 expansion racks can be connected to a system, and with the isolated expansion receiver module, the system can support expansion lengths of up to 750 meters. The IC200CBL605 Expansion Cable can also be used to build custom expansion cables with custom lengths by using a connector Kit like the IC200ACC202 Kit, a crimper, and a Belden 8138 cable.
The IC200CBL605 Expansion Cable must be ordered separately from the modules that it connects to. The IC200CBL605 Expansion Cable comes with end to end keyed connectors that prevent any incorrect installation. It is recommended to properly install the cable before powering the expansion module up and it is not recommended to substitute a different cable for the IC200CBL605 Expansion Cable, because this can cause errors, component damage, or user injury. For connections between the expansion unit and a Micro PLC, it recommended that both the expansion unit and the Micro PLC be connected in the same orientation because doing otherwise may damage the DC input circuit when it is powered up. For a multi-rack expansion system, the IC200CBL605 Expansion Cable must be connected from the port of the expansion transceiver module to the expansion receiver module. This cable’s ambient operating temperature range is between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius.
