The GE EP-8631 base module is a base module for the RSTi-EP EP-7631 power-feed module for the input current path. It is part of the GE accessories series. The EP-7631 power feed module with its EP-8361 base module is used to refresh the system current paths as well as the isolated power supply.
The GE Fanuc EP-8631 base module is a base module for the GE Fanuc RSTi-EP EP-7631 power-feed module for the input current path. The power feed module and the EP-8631 base module is used to refresh the system current paths as well as the isolated power supply. In any standard configuration, the power supply of the RSTi-EP station is always provided via a network adapter and the EP-7631 power feed module must be installed in the system if the current demand of the connected input modules (which are connected in series) becomes too large to handle. The EP-7631 module has a 4-pole connector, and it has a spring-style terminal block for quick module wiring. This 4-pole connector receives up to 10 Amps of maximum feed-in current in the input current path for input modules, and it has a maximum current consumption rating of 10 milliamps from the input current path.
The GE Fanuc EP-8631 base module supports a SELV power supply, and it has an operating voltage range of 20.4 Volts DC to 28.8 Volts DC. The EP-7631 power feed module (with its EP-8631 base module) belongs to the RSTi-EP passive module family that includes modules without any support for Fieldbus communication. Power feed modules, potential distribution modules, and empty slot modules are the kinds of modules that make up the RSTi-EP passive module family, and because they do not have Fieldbus communication capabilities, they are not considered during the configuration. The EP-7631 power feed module weighs approximately 76 grams (without the EP-8631 base module), and it comes with an IP 20 environmental protection rating. The EP-8631 base module is built for harsh industrial conditions. It supports an extended operating temperature range between -20 and 60 degrees Celsius and extended industrial approvals such as the cULus, UL 508, and CSA standards.
