Technical Information

The DVT SLD is a Cognex-manufactured smart link device with a DeviceNet port. The unit runs with a voltage source rated at 24 Volts DC and a current supply of 210 milliamps. The device can be mounted using a 35 mm DIN rail that is located on the back of the device. The front side houses the Ethernet port, RS 232 port, “Video Out” port, and the GND point. There are also LED indicators on the front that show the net status and the MOD status of the device. There is an LED that blinks for network activity in the device. The DVT SLD is used to enhance the abilities of the DVT sensors. It comes with a customized user interface that helps it to connect with a personal computer for configuration. It has a small form factor and it weighs 285 grams. It can be connected with both color and monochrome displays. The unit is CE certified.

 

The Cognex DVT SLD is easy to install. A screwdriver can be used to remove the back cover of the unit. The power connector is inserted into the 24 Volts rated GND point. The serial cable is connected to the RS 232 port and the Ethernet cable is connected to the RJ 45 port. A standard VGA cable is used to connect to the “Video Out” port in order to connect an external monitor to the device. The DVT SLD has an LED indicator that illuminates with a steady green light when the device is ready to operate. The light flashes red slowly when the DVT SLD is in the Diagnostics mode and it flashes red rapidly when the unit is in the Boot phase.
