DVT Intelligent Scanner DVT-5RC

Technical Information

The DVT 5RC scanner is an intelligent scanner produced by the Cognex Corporation in the Legend 500 series. This vision sensor has resolution of 640 x 480 pixels and it is a CMOS device. It comes with dimensions of 2.88 by 3.8 millimeters or ¼ inch, and it features a flash memory of 16 MB and a RAM of 64 MB. During installation, it is required that certain firmware be downloaded and installed in the vision sensor that is known as the Intellect 131.5 x 5 firmware. This firmware is a combination of the Intellect User Interface and an extension that is made for the series associated with the sensor. The DVT 5RC sensor has every standard Cognex sensor feature except DVT spectral sensor and Reader Vision Tool spectrograph. It runs at the basic processing speed. The DVT 5RC scanner is also designed to use CCD technology to read 1D and 2D characters and codes. It is able to read up to 200 codes in one second and still recognize optical characters, verify OVC, and perform barcode grading at the same time.

 

The DVT 5RC scanner lacks a C-Mount adapter but it is CS-Mountable, and the C-Mount adapter can be acquired separately if it is needed. Additionally, it is digital I/O-enabled with 24 Volts DC regulated voltage with 8 inputs and outputs that are configurable. The DVT 5RC scanner is able to provide the sinking PNP for grounded connections to the load with active signals. The outputs can sink up to 50 milliamps of maximum current and the inputs can sink up to 1.5 milliamps. The power and digital I/O can be connected via an RJ-45 connector on the external port and there is a keyed 10-pin connector with ability to support the TCP/IP communication protocols at 10/100 megabits. The electronic shuttering and exposure time is between 10 microseconds and 1 second.
