The Cognex DVT 554MR Vision Sensor Camera (with a custom red light) is a smart image sensor camera from the Cognex DVT 554 Smart Image Camera family. The products from this camera family are designed for gathering production data, ensuring quality in manufacturing, and providing information at all application levels. The images and data captured by this camera can be in the form of device-level data that can be transmitted to a PLC or as process-level Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and this data can be read as either a 2-state “PASS” or “FAIL” signal or as position feedback to a motion controller. The DVT 554 camera family features cameras with high-speed and high-resolution imaging in grayscale.
The DVT 554MR Camera features the combined functionalities of high-resolution CCD imaging at 1280 x 1024 pixels and a high-speed DSP processor into 1 compact camera. These features provide the DVT 554MR Camera with the ability to detect very small pinholes, stains, streaks, scratches, bubbles, and other tiny details that might go undetected by other smart cameras and sensors. The DVT 554MR Camera requires a regulated/isolated 24 Volts DC power supply for operation. This power supply provides up to 300 milliamps of maximum operating current at 24 Volts DC and a total power rating of 7 Watts. The DVT 554MR Camera has a 24 Volts DC rated I/O connector which goes to a breakout board, and it also has an Ethernet (TCP/IP) RJ-45 port that connects to the Ethernet switch of a computer or laptop that has an embedded Ethernet card. The DVT breakout board has multiple I/O points and it is powered by a 24 Volts DC power supply.
