Technical Information

The DVT 500M camera is a vision sensor camera by Cognex. It comes with a Tamron 32821 lens. It is used on industrial automation devices to read objects, detect defects, and capture readings. It is equipped with an Ethernet port for connecting with a network and a computer. It is powered with a 24 Volts DC power source that is supplied by the DVT isolated breakout board. The camera has a current rating of 1.25 Amps. The smart image sensor cable is connected to the RS 232 port and it runs from the breakout board to the sensor. The Status LED blinks when power is supplied to the camera. It also has a Result LED that illuminates when the sensor is working. It has a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. It has a high acquisition rate of 75 frames per second and it has a storage capacity of 16 MB which stores the firmware and tasks for the camera. 

 

The Cognex DVT 550M vision sensor camera can be connected to a personal computer by using the DVT Intellect software on the Windows operating system. The camera sensor is assigned an IP address when it is connected to a personal computer. The lens of the DVT 550M camera has 6x more processing speed than other cameras from other companies and it can be easily changed and replaced with a different lens depending on the application needs. The sensor has a DSP chip that is rated for high speed operation. It is a sensitive device and it should be handled carefully. The camera sensor can be mounted by using the threaded holes on the back side of the unit. The room temperature should be set between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius.
