The DVT 545C image sensor is a high speed color image sensor that is designed for industrial applications. It is part of the DVT Vision Sensor product range from Cognex. The DVT Vision Sensor product line ranges from the DVT 515 model which is the lowest cost full-featured DVT sensor to the DVT 554 which offers high resolutions of up to 1280 x 102 and it is capable of detecting small flaws on high-speed industrial lines. The DVT 545C image sensor comes with the Intellect software which is user-friendly and has a Windows based GUI. A built-in Ethernet interface enables the easy integration of the sensor with the industrial network. The sensor supports a full range of vision tools for code reading, object location, measurement, and inspection applications.
The DVT 545C image sensor requires 24 Volts DC input voltage and consumes 300 milliamps of current. The maximum operating temperature is 45 degrees Celsius. The sensor is approved by the CE and RoHS standards. The dimensions of the sensor are 112 x 60 x 34 millimeters. The average performance of the DVT 545C image sensor is 4 times that offered by the DVT 515 model. The Intellect software which accompanies the image sensor requires a 400 MHz Pentium class PC with Windows XP, a minimum 100 MB of available storage space, and 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface with RJ-45 jack. The PC with Intellect software and the DVT 545C image sensor communicate over the TCP/IP and UDP/IP network protocols.
