Technical Information

The Cognex DVT 545 image sensor is a CCD-based smart image sensor. The DVT 545 image sensor offers twice the performance, 4 times the memory, better anti-blooming imaging, and easier communication than the older Cognex DVT 540 model while being available at a similar price as the older device. The DVT 545 image sensor is well suited for medical devices, electronics assembly, and injection molding applications. The sensor can be used to inspect the orientation of a catheter that is inserted into a machine or industrial vessel. When used with the Intellect 1.3 software, the sensor is able to determine object orientation to +/- 3 degrees of precision by using the ObjectLocate feature. The speed of the auto resolution feature on the software has increased to almost 4 times the speed on the previous models.

 

The DVT 545 image sensor is a high-speed grayscale CCD image sensor which supports 640 x 480 resolution. The CCD size is 3.2 x 2.4 millimeters. A total of 64 MB of RAM and 16 MB of flash are available on the sensor. The DVT 545 image sensor is part of the DVT Vision Sensor product line which consists of the 500 line of products and also the DVT spectral sensor. The DVT 545 image sensor uses a high speed processor and CCD sensor to acquire high quality images and it enables high-speed delicate inspections. The processing speed of the DVT 545 image sensor is 4 times that of the old DVT 515 sensor. Each DVT sensor includes the Intellect software which can be used to set up precise measurement, OCR, defect detection, part inspections, and positioning applications. The Intellect software also includes different programming tools.
