Technical Information

The DVT 542CW sensor is a Cognex manufactured smart image sensor. It comes with a light for additional illumination. This Cognex Legend series sensor is housed inside an orange enclosure. The upper end houses the lens and the light. The bottom of the sensor is equipped with an Ethernet port, an RJ 45 port, and an RS 232 port that are all used for internal networking. The sensor offers high speed data transmission. Around the main sensor is an array of lights that help to provide additional lighting when needed. The DVT 542CW sensor is powered with a 24 Volts DC power supply and a current rating of 1.5 Amps. The camera has an image sensor that is 1:1.48 millimeters which produces highly detailed images. The main use of this image sensor is in industrial settings to take measurements, detect faults, and to take other readings. These values can be directly passed on to the PLC through Ethernet for further processing.

 

The Cognex Legend DVT 542CW smart image sensor is a high speed color smart image sensor that can produce a resolution of up to 640 x 480. The sensor can be mounted by using the 4 M4 threaded holes that are present on the back of the unit. The front lens on the unit can be replaced if needed. The installation and replacement process for the sensor is easy. The installation or replacement process should be done in a clean environment to ensure that no dust or dirt enters the sensor of the unit because this can damage it. The DVT 542CW smart image sensor should never be exposed to EMC noise during operation. The ambient operating temperature should be between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius for optimal performance.
