Technical Information

The DVT 542C sensor is a CE certified color smart image sensor manufactured by Cognex. This image sensor is used to assure quality in industrial manufacturing, data collection, and information collection processes. The sensor helps to collect device-level information and pass it to the PLC for processing. The front of the image sensor device has LED indicators that illuminate for status and result updates. The image sensor is powered with a 24 Volts DC power supply and a current rating of 1.2 Amps. The sensor comes with a default IP address that is compatible with a computer and a LAN selected by the operators. The sensor is equipped with an RS 232 port and an RJ 45 port for Ethernet communication. The vision sensor assigns a default IP address to itself.

 

The DVT 542C sensor is a basic color sensor. It is equipped with a color display with a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels. It is used for color graphics applications. The sensor comes with 3x more processing speed than the previous DVT 515 sensor version. The DVT 542C sensor comes with the Intellect software that helps to configure and program the sensor to detect the presence or absence of devices, device positioning, and defects, and to take measurements. The sensor can be easily installed and mounted by using 4 M4 threaded holes that are found on the bottom of the image sensor. It is light and weighs 170 grams. An additional strobe LED array light can be used with an additional 30 Watts power supply. The operating temperature for the DVT 542C sensor ranges between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius.
