Technical Information

The product code DVT 540M is the product code for a Cognex DVT vision sensor. This high-speed/no light sensor is built with SmartImage sensor technology and it is a valuable component of any automation and control system. The DVT sensor carries a CE mark and Legend 540 designation. The DVT 540M high-speed sensor has an operating speed that is 4x faster than that of previous sensors and it comes with a grayscale CCD display. The image sensor has a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels and a CCD size of 4.8 x 3.8 millimeters or 1/3 inch. In addition to that, the DVT 540M sensor has 64 MB of RAM and 16 MB of flash memory. The RAM is intended for processing data and the flash memory is intended for data storage. This kind of sensor is useful in detecting defects in products and finding missing parts.

 

Additionally, the DVT 540M sensor can be used for reading codes, taking parameter measurements, and similar applications. This exceptional sensor is important for industrial systems and it can drastically improve machine operation. The DVT 540M sensor comes with special software called Intellect software which serves the setup process of different parameters for operation. The DVT 540M sensor weighs less than 200 grams without a lens and it requires a power source with a voltage of 24 Volts DC. The current rating of the power source is 210 to 300 milliamps. The operating temperature range of the DVT 540M sensor is from 0 to 45 degrees Celsius (32 to 113 degrees Fahrenheit) and the sensor should be installed in an environment with non-condensing relative humidity.
