DVT Cognex LEGEND 530M NO LGT. Note: Legend 530 SmartImage Sensor

Technical Information

The DVT 530M sensor is a basic SmartImage sensor which offers a similar functionality to the DVT 520 sensor but it offers higher precision than the older model by replacing the CMOS sensor with a CCD sensor. The DVT 530M SmartImage sensor offers better results than the DVT 520 model for applications including precision measurement and the analysis of detailed parts. The grayscale CCD on the DVT 530M SmartImage sensor offers 640 x 480 pixels of resolution and the CCD size is 4.8 x 3.6 millimeters. The CCD format is 1/3 inch. The DVT 530M SmartImage sensor belongs to the Legend Series 500 product line which also includes other advanced grayscale and color image sensors, the Intelligent Scanner, which is an industrial barcode reader with OCR and OCV capabilities, and the SpectroCam, which is a spectral line imaging sensor.

All sensors in the Legend 500 family include the Windows-based FrameWork software which can be configured to set up industrial inspections including measurements, OCR, and positioning inspections, and other tools to accommodate user needs. The DVT 530M SmartImage sensor uses Ethernet and the TCP/IP and UDP/IP protocols for network communication. The FrameWork software can be installed on a PC running the Windows 98, NT, X, or 2000 software. The Ethernet interface on the DVT 530M SmartImage sensor is provided for network communication between the image sensor and a PC running the FrameWork software. If the PC is being connected directly to the image sensor, then either a crossover cable or crossover connector should be used. If the PC and image sensor are being connected through a network hub or switch, then a straight-through network cable can be used.
