The DVT 520M vision sensor is a machine vision solution for industries and applications requiring photoelectric vision sensors. It is part of the Legend Series 500 product line which also includes the DVT 530, DVT 540, DVT 542C, DVT 544, and DVT 544C sensors. The DVT 520M vision sensor can be used along with the FrameWork software to create a powerful tool for inspection applications. The sensor and software combination can be used for inspecting machine positioning, defects, OCR, and the presence or absence of parts. The sensor is based on a grayscale CMOS imager with a 640 x 480 resolution. The physical dimensions of the DVT 520M vision sensor are 112 x 60 x 30 millimeters. Excluding the lens, the approximate shipping weight of the sensor is 170 grams.
One 10/100 FastEthernet interface is provided on the sensor for network communication. The DVT 520M vision sensor runs on DC power and is rated for 24 Volts DC. The current consumption of the device is 210 milliamps. The power consumption is 5 Watts, which can increase by 30 Watts if the LED array on the unit is also turned on. The power supply for providing power to the DVT 520M vision sensor is not part of the sensor and it needs to be ordered separately. The recommended minimum and maximum ambient temperatures for the device are 0 degrees Celsius and 45 degrees Celsius, respectively. The minimum hardware requirements for setting up the FrameWork software on a PC include a 400 MHz Pentium class PC, Windows 2000 or a more advanced operating system, 128 MB of RAM, 30 MB of hard disk space, and one Ethernet card for network communications.
