The Cognex DVT 515MR vision sensor is a grayscale vision sensor. The mechanical specifications for the sensor include dimensions of 112 x 60 x 30 millimeters and 170 grams weight. Four holes on the back of the unit can be used for mounting. The M4 threaded holes have a depth of 7.9 millimeters. The environmental specifications for the sensor include an environment with non-condensing humidity and a 0 to 45 degrees Celsius operating temperature range. The vision sensor specifications include 640 x 480 resolution, a CMOS imager, a 3.8 x 2.88 millimeters CCD size, 64 MB of RAM, 16 MB of flash memory, and 10 microseconds to 1 second of exposure time for electronic shuttering. The specifications for the electrical power include a voltage rating of 24 Volts DC, a current consumption rating of 300 milliamps, and a minimum power requirement of 5 Watts.
An additional 30 Watts of power are required if an LED array is installed on the sensor. The DVT 515MR vision sensor supports standard CD mounting and it can also use C mounting with a separate adapter. The external ports on the DVT 515MR vision sensor include Ethernet for network communications and a keyed 10-pin RJ-45 port for power and digital I/O connections. The 8 digital I/O on the sensor are rated for 24 Volts DC regulated voltage and they can be configured as inputs or as outputs. The outputs can source a maximum of 50 milliamps and the inputs can sink up to 1.5 milliamps of current. The DVT 515MR vision sensor includes the Intellect software, but it does not include tools like the reader vision tools and the spectrograph. The DVT 515MR vision sensor belongs to the DVT Vision Sensor product family which also includes high resolution sensors, the extreme scanner, and a spectral sensor.
