Cognex DVT LEGEND 515M NO LGT. Note: Legend 510 SmartImage Sensor CMOS, no Reader SoftSensors

Technical Information

The DVT 515M sensor is a vision sensor which belongs to the DVT vision sensor family of products from Cognex. Vision sensors are hardware tools that help with information gathering and ensuring quality control in manufacturing for different industries. The DVT 515M vision sensor uses a grayscale CMOS imager which supports a 640 x 480 resolution. Like other members of the DVT vision sensor family, the DVT 515M vision sensor includes the Intellect software. The DVT 515M vision sensor also includes all Intellect tools except the Reader Vision tools and the Spectrograph. The sensor is certified by the CE standards. The minimum power requirements for the DVT 515M vision sensor are 5 Watts. An isolated and regulated 24 Volts DC power supply which is rated for 300 milliamps should be used for the vision sensor.

The power supply for the DVT 515M vision sensor is sold separately. If the LED array is also used, the power supply will need to provide an additional 30 Watts of power per sensor. Cognex recommends that the users purchase and use the DVT digital I/O and power cable which is sold separately. The operating temperature in the environment where the DVT 515M vision sensor is installed should be kept between 32 and 113 degrees Fahrenheit. The maximum ambient temperature which the vision sensor can sustain safely is 122 degrees Fahrenheit. Two external ports are provided on the DVT 515M vision sensor, and they are a FastEthernet network port and a port with an RJ 45 jack for power and I/O connections. The approximate shipping weight of the sensor is 170 grams. The dimensions of the DVT 515M vision sensor are 112 x 60 x 30 millimeters. Four M4 type holes with 7.9 millimeters of depth are provided for mounting the sensor.
