The Allen-Bradley VPL Servo Motors are industrial servo motors from the Kinetix product line that can be used in motion control applications. The VPL Servo Motors are permanent magnet-based rotary servo motors that operate at low levels of inertia. This series includes 200V voltage class motors and 400V voltage class motors. The ratings of the VPL Servo Motors have been optimized to the ratings of Allen-Bradley Kinetix 5700 and 5500 servo drives. As a result, VPL Servo Motors operate efficiently with Kineitx 5700 and Kinetix 5500 servo drives, and the motors and drives can be connected and programmed easily. VPL Servo Motors are available with rated speeds from 1500 RPM to 8000 RPM. The permanent magnets that the VPL Servo Motors use are installed in stacks inside the servo motors, and these motors can have 1, 2, 3, 4, or 6 magnet stacks. These motors are also available with different frame sizes or bolt circle diameters. The minimum bolt circle diameter in the series is 63 mm, and the maximum bolt circle diameter is 165 mm. Many VPL Servo Motors have smooth shafts, but some motors include shaft keys. Some VPL Servo Motors also include shaft seals to protect their shafts from fluids or large quantities of fine dust particles. VPL Servo Motors are available with single-turn feedback encoders or multi-turn feedback encoders. Some VPL Servo Motors are also available with 24V DC holding brakes. The motors in this series each have one right-angle SpeedTec DIN cable connector that can rotate 325 degrees. The VPL Servo Motors can be mounted vertically with their shafts facing up, vertically with their shafts facing down, or horizontally with their shafts in a horizontal position too.
