The 1783-BMS20CL is an industrial managed switch derived from the Allen Bradley Stratix 5700 switch series. This Ethernet switch is compatible with a variety of topologies, including device level ring (DLR) for robust networks. The 1783-BMS20CL is a managed switch; therefore it can be configured and managed with a variety of tools, such as a web interface, CLI, and SNMP. This enables administrators to manage the switch's ports, VLANs, routing, and security. This managed Ethernet switch has twenty (20) ports, including sixteen (16) fast Ethernet copper ports (FE) that support 10/100 Mbps, two (2) gigabit Ethernet combo ports that support 1 Gbps transmission speed, and two (2) small form-factor pluggable network interface slots for fiber optic, gigabit Ethernet. This managed Ethernet switch supports the construction of linear, star, device level rings, and other topologies to meet the needs of industrial Ethernet networking. The 1783-BMS20CL switch accepts DC input voltages ranging from 12 to 48 volts. The switch's lowest and maximum current draws are 0.5 amps and 3 amps, respectively. At 40 degrees Celsius and 24 volts DC, the 1783-BMS20CL switch typically consumes 21 watts. The switch's peak power usage can exceed 30 watts. The enclosure of the 1783-BMS20CL is open. It must be installed within an enclosure that protects from field pollutants and elements such as dirt, dust, moisture, water, and other factors.
