Manufactured by Allen Bradley, catalog number 150-F85NBD is a solid-state controller from the SMC-Flex product series. This unit was designed to start and stop line-connected motors using computerized control. This controller has several modes of operation, including gentle start and stop, full voltage and dual ramp start, current limit start, configurable jumpstart, and slow speed mode. It has a current rating of 85 amperes, a power rating of 60 horsepower at 460 volts AC, and a three-phase input line voltage of 200 to 460 volts AC. The 150-F85NBD can be programmed using the 5-button keypad on the front of the controller. It features some protection features, such as overload protection. This security function can also be configured, giving consumers even more options. In addition to the integrated electronic motor overload protection, the controller has short-circuited and thermal protection circuitry. Stall detection is enabled when the motor fails to start and the controller times out for the delayed start time. Similarly, jamming detection is engaged when the motor reaches maximum speed and falls below the predetermined jam detection level. The controller, like other protective features, has a programmable trip level and delay periods that can be programmed to avoid overvoltage. The 150-F85NBD controller's undervoltage protection shuts down the motor when the input voltage drops. To eliminate false alarms, users can configure the under-voltage and trip level detection levels. Its offered underload protection is another controller feature that protects the motor from any drop in current and protects it when the delayed trip time is surpassed.
