The Allen-Bradley SMC Flex Smart Motor Controller 150-F480NBD is a high-tech solid-state device with a built-in microprocessor and a number of adjustable settings that allow for accurate control of AC motors. This controller provides a wide variety of operating modes to effectively cover the beginning, end, and in-between phases of a motor's operation: Soft Start, Full Voltage Start, Smart Motor Braking, Current Limit Start, Dual Ramp Start, Accu-Stop, Selectable Kickstart, Pump Start, Slow Speed with Braking, Coast-to-rest, Preset Slow Speed, Linear Speed Acceleration (requires a tachometer), Soft Stop, and Pump Stop. It prevents damage to motors and keeps them running efficiently by keeping them in the same operating condition as much as possible. This controller has a control voltage range of 100 to 240V AC (for 5...480 A units), operates with supply voltages of 200-460V AC, 3-Phase, and supports frequencies of 50 and 60 Hz; its maximum continuous output current is 480 Amperes, and its output power is 400 HP at a 460VAC input voltage. In addition to the Human Interface Module (HIM), which comes in both handheld and door-mounted varieties, the 150-F480NBD supports a wide variety of communication modules for exchanging data over well-established networks. These include DF1, Profibus DP, ControlNet, Interbus, MODBUS TCP, DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P, HVAC communication adapter, and ControlNet Fiber media adapter. As a member of the SMC Flex series of Smart Motor Controllers, this adaptable piece of equipment is built to improve motor control, optimize operating efficiency, and connect to several communication networks.
