Allen-Bradley's 150-F201NBR Smart Motor Controller is a high-performance piece of hardware in the company's SMC Flex product line. This multipurpose soft starter is built to safeguard motors and maintain accurate control in a wide range of industrial settings. Line voltage needs to be between 200 and 460 VAC in 3-phase, 50 or 60 Hz situations, and control voltage needs to be between 24 and 24 V AC or DC for 5 to 480 A. This controller is notable for its high-rated voltage of 460 VAC and its excellent output current capability of 201 A continuously. The 150-F201NBR has a standard minimum enclosure dimension of 965mm (H) x 762mm (W) x 356mm (D) and is designed with an open-type enclosure for easy installation. It allows precise motor control to be tailored to individual operational requirements by providing a wide variety of start and stop modes, such as Soft Start, Full Voltage Start, Smart Motor Braking, Current Limit Start, Dual Ramp Start, Accu-Stop, Selectable Kickstart, Pump Start, Slow Speed with Braking, Coast-to-rest, Preset Slow Speed, and Linear Speed Acceleration (Tachometer required). The controller has an integrated HIM for user configuration and status monitoring. Its power circuit features RC Snubber Network insulation and DV/DT protection for added safety. This type lacks protection modules and instead uses a 600A Class J fuse to protect branch circuits; this fuse has a maximum short-circuit rating of 18KA. The electrical motor overload protection implemented by the i2t Algorithm is particularly noteworthy, as it guarantees consistent functioning. The 150-F201NBR provides extensive metering capabilities, recording data including current, voltage, power, energy, time, power factor, and motor thermal capacity. In addition to the main control functions of normal, up-to-speed, fault, alarm, network, and external bypass (N.O./N.C.), it also features four completely programmable auxiliary connections. The controller has two DPI ports—one for connecting to a user interface, if desired, and one for general communication.
