The Allen-Bradley 150-SC1NBD soft starter belongs to the SMC-50 series of Allen-Bradley soft starters and smart motor controllers. This controller operates with a control power voltage range of 100 to 240 Volts AC. Its enclosure is an open enclosure. The 150-SC1NBD soft starter supports a minimum line voltage rating of 200 Volts AC and a maximum line voltage rating of 460 Volts AC. The 150-SC1NBD is microprocessor-based. It is engineered to control 3-phase motors and includes built-in overload protection. The 150-SC1NBD soft starter also features 6 silicon-controlled rectifiers (2 per phase), and it precisely manages the conduction time for a motor and regulates voltage and torque for a motor during startup, operation, and shutdown. Once the motor is operational and running at the desired speed, the 150-SC1NBD controller applies the output voltage to the motor. The 150-SC1NBD controller supports straightforward diagnostics features and several user-selectable motor-starting modes. It was designed to be easy to install. The 150-SC1NBD soft starter’s operating modes include soft start, selectable kickstart, pump control mode, current limit start, and torque control start operating modes. This controller does not come with a display. The 150-SC1NBD controller supports a current rating of 210 Amps. It is compatible with line-connected and Delta-connected motors, and it can start both types of motors in normal-duty or heavy-duty applications. The 150-SC1NBD controller’s overload current rating is 70 Amps with a line-connected motor and 122 Amps with a Delta-connected motor. This soft starter should be mounted vertically when it is installed. The 150-SC1NBD soft starter can start motors in compressors, pumps, conveyors, elevators, crushers, and mixer machines.
