Allen-Bradley developed the 150-C37NBD SMC-3 ranging smart, compact, and user-friendly motor controller with 37 amps rated current; it uses a 3-phase 200-480V AC power supply for motor operation. It features a soft-start operating mode that raises torque from the initial value to the maximum speed range and a current limit start feature that limits the starting current from 150–450% of the entire current load. In addition, raising the current pulse to 450% of the full load current offers a programmable jumpstart mode with a changeable kickoff duration of 0.5-1.5 seconds. A gentle stop mode must be used during extended halt times. The control circuit of the 150-C37NBD includes a 100-240V AC control voltage, 1500V AC dielectric withstand power rating, 250V AC voltage insulation, and 2500V voltage impulse. It also consists of a category III overvoltage protection facility. The power circuit of the 150-C37NBD has a dielectric withstand of 2200V AV, a 6000 volts impulse voltage, 600V of voltage insulation, and 1000V/microseconds of DV/DT protection. The 150-C37NBD is fused with a 60 amps class CC/J/L time-delay fuse, a 125 amps non-time-delay K5 fuse with a fault limit of 10 kiloamps (kA), and 125 amps rated thermal magnetic circuit breaker with a fault limit of 10KA. It features a heat dissipation of 24 watts at 12.3 to 37 amps current load. The controller is IP2X rated for usage in degree 2 polluted conditions and is certified by CCC, CE, CSA, and cUL-us. The 150-C37NBD has an open enclosure and is compliant with EN/IEC, UL, and CSA standards.
