The Allen Bradley (part ID 150-C201NBD) is one SMC smart rotor controller, sometimes called a soft starter. As its product name implies, this soft starter is made especially to safeguard motors from harm and start-up stress. Energy-efficient solutions also comprise rotor starters, which are often setup for the previously mentioned reason. To safeguard the associated rotor, this soft starter can be used to trigger the Soft Start, Power Limit Start, Coast-to-rest, Selectable Kickstart, & Soft Halt capabilities. One of the most often used motor starting methods, soft start, has an initial torque that varies from 0 to 70% of the locked rotor torque. The motor's voltage is increased without the use of a step reference during the designated acceleration time. The acceleration parameter is modifiable. The current restriction capability clamps the incoming current at a certain level to limit the maximum starting current to the motor. Current adjustment ranges from 25 to 55 percent of the total load current. Both soft starts and selectable kickstarts have the same feature: once the motor achieves its operational speed, the voltage output rises to its maximum level. Though they are similar, coast to stop and gentle stop are a more thorough version of each other. Using this function, the load will cease when the voltage drops to a point where the torque of the load exceeds the torque of the motor. Auxiliary connectors on this drive can take up to 120 or 240 volts simultaneously. Sponged copper wire is required in order to utilize this contact output.
