The Allen Bradley MVI46-DFCM DF1 Communication Module serves as a critical link between Rockwell Automation SLC I/O compatible processors and DF1 protocol-compatible devices. This module is designed to enhance communication and data exchange capabilities across various industrial applications. The MVI46-DFCM is single-slot compatible with the 1746 backplane, ensuring seamless integration within your existing setup. It operates with an 800 mA current load at 5V from the backplane and can endure operating temperatures ranging from 0 to 60°C (32 to 140°F). Additionally, it can withstand shocks of up to 30g operational and 50g non-operational and maintains a relative humidity tolerance of 5% to 95% (non-condensing). Vibration resistance is rated at 5g from 10-150 Hz. This module is compatible with Rockwell Automation SLC 5/02 M0/M1 capable processors or newer, making it versatile for various processor setups. LED indicators provide crucial status information, including module status, backplane transfer status, application status, serial activity, and error LED status. The MVI46-DFCM module boasts two Application Serial ports (PRT1 and PRT2), each featuring RJ45 RS-232/422/485 connectivity options. These ports are user-configurable as master or slave, enabling flexible data transfer and communication management. Data transfer between the module and the SLC processor occurs asynchronously to the DF1 network, utilizing the module's internal database. In terms of the DF1 protocol, the module supports full and half-duplex modes, CRC and BCC error checking, full hardware handshaking control, and user-definable memory usage for storage and transfer of up to 5000 registers to/from the control processor. It accommodates up to 125-word read and write command lengths, including support for floating-point data movement.
