The industrial processor unit for control systems with the catalog number 1747-L40C is designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation and it is available through the SLC 500 series. This hardware component for control systems uses #14 AWG wire and it is built with LED indicators for showing the users fault states and the status of the battery and the connected PC. Additionally, the 1747-L40C controller tolerates moderate vibration levels according to all of the relevant industrial standards. The noise immunity of the unit is rated according to the NEMA ICS 2-230 noise immunity standards. The unit has an isolation voltage rating of 1500 Volts AC for 1 minute and it is certified according to the UL and CSA standards.
The 1747-L40C controller has twenty-four 24 Volts DC sink inputs and 16 AC/DC relay outputs. The inputs feature an on-state voltage of 10 to 30 Volts DC along with an off-state voltage of 5 Volts DC with the exception of input 0, which has an off-state voltage of 4 Volts DC. Additionally, the 1747-L40C controller has a nominal input current rating of 20 milliamps at 24 Volts DC for input 0 and a rating of 8 milliamps at 24 Volts DC for all the other inputs. The unit needs a maximum of 8 milliseconds to switch on and to switch off. The maximum off-state current of the inputs is 1 milliamp. The output specifications include turn-on and turn-off times of 10 milliseconds, a maximum load per chassis of 1440 Volt-Amps, a maximum off-state leakage current of 0 milliamps, and a minimum load current of 10 milliamps at 5 Volts DC. The unit needs a line power rating of 120/240 Volts AC and it has a 1K instruction capacity for the program memory.
The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1747-L40C controller unit has an input voltage rating of 120/240 Volts AC and an output voltage rating of 5 to 265 Volts AC OR 5 to 125 Volts DC. The SLC 500 controller has a continuous current of 2.5 Amps per output and 8 Amps per group.
