The 1747-WINBAS is the Windows Basic interface software used to interface the Allen-Bradley 1746-BAS, 1746-BAS-T and the 1771-DB BASIC modules by simplifying the uploading and downloading of BASIC module programs. In addition, it backs up and restores module images. For troubleshooting BASIC programs, the 1747-WINBAS has debugging mechanisms and tools. The 1747-WINBAS does not allow the DH-485 to be bridged from other networks. For communication, the 1747-WINBAS uses an RS-232 serial COMMON port or a DH-485 interface. The 1747-WINBAS uses its client window to display any information from the port selected. For communication with the BAS module through the DH-485, RSLinx Classic OEM software must be installed. To install this software, insert the CD with the software into its drive and it will take you through the installation process.
Installation instructions are provided once you insert the 1747-WINBAS program CD into the CD drive of your computer. The 1747-WINBAS functions optimally on Windows 2000, NT, XP and 98. Communication for the 1747-WINBAS is achieved through the RS-232 port to the module. For maximum operation of the 1747-WINBAS, connections should be made through COM1 to COM4 or through the DH-485. This will give you 300, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, or 15200 Bps with 7/8 data bits, 1 or 2 stop bits and a parity bit which is either even, none or odd. When the 1747-WINBAS recognizes the DH-485 interface for the first time, a device must be added using manual configuration. The approved interfaces for the DH-485 are:1784-PCMK, 1784-PKTX, 1784-PKTXD and the 1747-UIC.
