Other Available Revisions for the 1747-SCNR 1747-SCNR//A
The Allen-Bradley 1747-SCNR is a ControlNet Scanner for the SLC platform. This communication module allows for communication with the SLC processor over the 1746 backplane. Instead of being limited to the ports available with SLC processors, you can add a communication module like the 1747-SCNR for an additional communication port. This unit only utilizes a single slot in a 1746 chassis. The module features a node address and status display, Channel A and Channel B status indicators, a module status indicator which shows if the device is powered and properly operating, a ControlNet network access port, and ControlNet redundant media ports. To connect the 1747-SCNR to a ControlNet network, use a tap with a 1 m (39.4 in) drop cable. The 1747-SCNR can scan I/O. It is compatible with SLC 5/02, 5/03, 5/04, and 5/05 processors. The backplane current load for the module is 800 mA at 5V dc and 90 mA at 24V dc.
Before installing the 1747-SCNR you should know how to program and use an SLC 500 programmable controller and install and configures devices on a ControlNet network. The 1747-SCNR fits in any slot of a chassis except the most left slot on the first chassis, reserved for the processor. Take caution when installing the 1747-SCNR by ensuring the chassis power supply is OFF. If you install the scanner when the power supply is on you may damage the module. Operating temperatures for the 1747-SCNR should be between 0-60 degrees Celsius (32-140 degrees Fahrenheit). Storage temperatures should remain between -40-85 degrees Celsius (-40-185 degrees Fahrenheit).
