The Allen-Bradley 1747-M15 is an adapter socket. The 1747-M15 is a must when using PROM programmers to erase or program memory modules. The 1747-M15 holds the memory module and the 1747-M15 fits into the Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) slot on the PROM. The 1747-M15 is part of the SLC-500 family of processors.

 

The PROMs have a high level of electrostatic sensitivity, therefore, adequate grounding should be ensured during handling. The 1747-M15 is compatible with 1747-M11 and 1747-M12 memory modules. Additionally, the 1747-M15 is an SLC-5/03, SLC-5/04, and SLC-5/05 adapter socket for the 1747-M13 memory module.

 

For proper usage of the 1747-M15 memory adaptor: 1. move the J3 jumper into the proper position so that the memory module can be programmed. 2. The jumper needs to connect the VPP to the center pin for the 1747-M11 and the 1747-M12 memory modules. 3. While inserting the 1747-M13 memory module into the 1747-M15 memory adapter, the jumper needs to link the A18 to the center pin. 4. By aligning the arrows marked on the connection, gently link the memory module to the 1747-M15 adaptor. 5. The notch on the 1747-M15 adaptor indicates the upper side of the adaptor. Insert the 1747-M15 adaptor into the PROM receptacle on the PROM programmer.

 

Following the instructions that come with the ROM, program the memory module. NOTE that incorrectly positioning the J3 jamper will either damage the PROM programmer, the memory module, or both. The 1747-M15 is 2 lbs. in weight and measures 6 inches x 6 inches x 3 inches. It has a temperature rating of 0-60 º C.
