The Allen-Bradley 1747-M11 is an EEPROM memory module in the SLC 5/03 family of programmable controllers. Controllers in this family have the fixed controller or the modular controller hardware options. With a controller from this family, adaptability during system configuration is a guarantee. This helps in creating systems that fit your specific needs. The 1747-M11 offers 0.44ms execution times and 10x faster throughput. As a controller in the SLC 5/03 family, the 1747-M11 is powered by a separate power supply which has to be mounted on the left side of the 1747 I/O chassis. The 1747-M11 has a memory capacity of 8k or 16k which is battery powered. Additionally, the 1747-M11 uses the DH-485 and RS-232 ports for communication.
A programmable memory module is very sensitive to electrostatic charges. It should be handled with extra caution PLUS proper grounding measures. During progamming, users should pay great attention to detail. To program the 1747-M11 memory module, the center pin must come into contact with the module through the VPP using the jumper. With the connectors marked, align the arrows as indicated. This should be done to integrate the memory module within the adapter. The top of the adapter assembly is marked by a notch. This ensures the correct orientation of the adaptor assembly. The PROM receptacle of the adapter assembly should then be inserted into the PROM programmer. After executing all of the above processes, actual programming can begin. This is done by following the instructions provided along with the 1747 M11 programmable module.
