The Allen-Bradley 1747-L531 is an SLC 500 5/03 CPU from the SLC 500 product family of programmable controllers. This CPU has a maximum of 4096 inputs and 4096 outputs. The 1747-L531 has 30 module spaces in the local chassis and a maximum of 3 local chassis. On the front panel, the 1747-L531 features a DH-485 Channel 1 port and a DH-485/DF1/ASCII Channel 0 port. There are also LED indicators to relate operational status information.
The 1747-L531 has standard battery-supported RAM and flash back-up memory. The 1747-L531 has an 8K words user memory: 4K words for data and program and 4K words for data only. The backplane current for the 1747-L531 at 5V is 500mA and at 24V is 175 mA. The CPU requires 1ms for program scan time and 0.225ms for I/O scan time. Additionally, the 1747-L531 has a maximum of 480 local analog I/O. With the 1747-L531, it is easy to incorporate a 1747-SN remote I/O scanner module. This will aid in configuring I/O on a universal remote I/O link. Another option is to add the 1747-SDN DeviceNet module to ease the configuration of I/O on a DeviceNet network.
