The Allen-Bradley 1747-DSN Distributed I/O Scanner for the SLC 5/01 is part of the Allen-Bradley PLC SLC 500 series. The DIO system for the 1747-DSN is composed of a scanner, I/O, an SLC processor, and an isolated coupler block. The 1747-DSN has a module that is used to connect and communicate with every I/O block in “round robin” mode. The 1747-DSN Distributed I/O Scanner initializes the communication by using the foremost I/O block to send the output. The I/O block will always respond to the 1747-DSN by sending the input data back.
The backplane consumption of the 1747-DSN Distributed I/O Scanner is 900 mA at 5V. The 1747-DSN can operate at a temperature rating that ranges between 32 and 140 0 F and the best temperature to store the 1747-DSN scanner at is between -40 and 185 0 F.
A DIO system can easily be made if the 1747-DSN is properly connected to the DH-485 data link and the DIO link. Both the DH-485 and the DIO link are independent networks. The DIO links is accompanied with the I/O blocks and the scanner. The SLC processor is allowed to exchange input and output information for up to 30 I/O blocks. The maximum cable of the DIO link connected to a 1747-DSN distributed I/O scanner for SLC 5/01 is 762 m. The average weight for a 1747-DSN must be 1.1 kilogram while the dimensions in terms of length, width, and height is 5.5 x 3.6 x 5.7 inches.
