The 1746sc-NI8U is a universal analog input module designed to work with Allen-Bradley's smart logic controllers (SLC 500) series. It has eight (8) analog input channels that are compatible with a wide range of input signals and equipment. This module specifically supports thermocouple sensors of J, K, T, B, E, R, S, and N, as well as PT385/3916, Ni618/672, and Cu426 types, allowing it to be used in temperature measurement and applications. This module is also compatible with the direct input of resistance signals ranging from 0 to 3000 ohms for the integration of transducers, often for motion and linear movement detection and measurement. This module may also receive a variety of input signals (0-20 mA; 4-20 mA) for general-purpose applications, as well as a wide range of voltage signals (minimum - 0.5 millivolts to maximum 10 V). The frequencies of its input filters are 10 hertz (Hz), 50 Hz, 50 Hz, and 250 Hz. The 1746sc-NI8u module's output table is directly compatible with SLC processors, making this module straightforward to set up and use. The 1746sc-NI8U requires a 5-volt DC and 24-volt DC power supply. It is powered by the SLC-500 chassis. The maximum current drawn by this analog input module at 5 volts DC is 0.12 amps and 0.1 amp at 24 volts DC. The device's operational temperature range is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). Except for slot 0 (for PLC processors), the module can be put in any slot of an SLC-500 chassis. The product is UL and CUL certified, as well as CE compliant.
