Spectrum Control unit's 1746SC-INI4I features a 4-channel isolated analog input current; Allen Bradley manufactures this unit, which is part of the SLC 500 series. The 1746SC-INI4I module is isolated between channels and from the SLC 500 PLC's backplane. This isolation shields the module and the PLC from electrical noise and crosstalk, which can result in false readings. The module includes a four-channel universal analog module with separately adjustable channels perfect for voltage, current, thermocouple, RTD, and resistance. It should be noted that with the 1746SC-INI4I, any combination of inputs is possible and can be utilized concurrently. The 1746SC-INI4I lowers system costs by decreasing or eliminating the requirement for a dedicated analog input/output. The counter or flow meter module on the 1746SC-INI4I supports four (4) single-ended counters and combines input pairs to generate quadrature counters. The input range of the 1746SC-INI4I module is 4 to 20 mA (milliamps), and each channel can be separately programmed to one of four input ranges, including 4 to 20 mA (milliamps), 0 to 20 mA, 2 to 10 mA, or 0 to 10 mA. The module also has a 16-bit resolution, which allows it to measure and report minor changes in the input signal reliably. The 1746SC-INI4I enables cost-effective solutions for demanding application needs. Furthermore, this module offers high-performance characteristics such as improved channel density and flexible configuration choices. It includes an LCD display, numeric keypad support, and programmable function keys. The 1746SC-INI4I operates at 750 volts DC and offers channel to channel isolation. It does away with the necessity for costly external isolators.
