The 1746-RT25R by Allen-Bradley is a 1746 SLC 500 series general purpose removable terminal block. It has protective gold-plated contacts, it is color coded red, and it works with AC input/output modules. It has a up to 16 input/output points and 18 terminals. This removable terminal block can connect with 1746 I/O modules such as the -IA16, -IM16, -OA16, and the -OAP12. Module circuitry is susceptible to damage if the incorrect terminal block is installed; as such, ensure that the red band, which indicates compatibility, is present on all modules that are to be connected to the 1746-RT25R block.
The 1746-RT25R allows users to replace input/output modules without the need for rewiring. Self-lifting pressure plates ensure that wiring is secure and the barriers present on 3 sides of the terminal aid in preventing accidental shorting out of wiring. To avoid possible damage to equipment and personal injury only remove or install the 1746-RT25R terminal block when the SLC 500 system is switched OFF. The 1746-RT25R remains operational at up to temperatures of 60 degrees Celsius and at a minimum temperature of 0 degrees Celsius. It is 1.1 kilograms (2.5 pounds) in weight. The 1746-RT25R is often installed in a 1746 chassis, where it occupies 1 slot.
When installing the 1746-RT25R, ensure that the release screws are in line with the matching connectors on the module. The terminal block should then be firmly pressed onto the connector’s contacts and the release screws should be tightened. Alternate the screws during tightening to avoid cracking the 1746-RT25R terminal block.
