The 1746-RT25G by Allen-Bradley is a 1746 removable terminal block belonging to the SLC 500 series. It is green in color and is used with specialty input/output modules. It is equipped with 16 input/output points and up to 18 terminals. This terminal block is compatible with any module in the 1746 series and these compatible modules include the HSCE, HSCE2, NR4, NI8, NO8I, NO8V, IO12, NI16I, and the NI16V. The color band present on each module will indicate the matching terminal block. Ensure that the module and the terminal block are compatible, because the module’s circuitry can be damaged if the incorrect wired terminal block is installed.
The removal of input/output modules is made easier since the use of the 1746-RT25G eliminates the need for rewiring. The self-lifting pressure plates on the terminal block allow for secure wiring and the barriers placed on 3 of its sides help to safeguard it against short circuits in the wiring. Ensure that the SLC 500 system has been powered off before removing or installing any terminal blocks to prevent damage to the equipment and possible physical harm.
When installing the 1746-RT25G, align the release screws with the module’s mating connector. Then, firmly press the terminal blocks onto the contacts on the connector. When it fits, tighten the release screws. Alternate between screws while tightening them to prevent the 1746-RT25G terminal block from cracking.
