The Allen-Bradley 1746-NI16V is an analog input module from in the SLC 500 series. It is suitable to be used in Class I, Division 2. Groups A, B, C, D locations. It has 16 input points with a 16-bit resolution. The 1746-NI16V operates with a voltage category between -10 and 10 Volts DC. Additionally, the 1746-NI16V draws a backplane current of 125 mA at 5 Volts and 75 mA at 24 Volts; it consumes a minimum of 0.625 Watts at 5 Volts and 1.8 Watts at 24 Volts DC from the backplane.

The 1746-NI16V has a voltage isolation tested at 500 Volts AC and 710 Volts DC for 60 seconds. It has an A/D sigma conversion method and a maximum of 20.5 Volts between two signal terminals with an input filter of 6, 10, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, and 250 Hertz. It also accepts 1746-NI4 data format.

The 1746-NI16V has a 20 ohms resistance and a plus/minus 30 Volt maximum voltage input without causing any damages. Between the analog common and any input terminal, the 1746-NI16V has a maximum input current of plus/minus 30 mA. It takes less than 5 seconds for the 1746-NI16V to detect an open circuit, and it has a 312µV input voltage and a 0.1% display resolution. The 1746-NI16V operates optimally at a temperature of 0.08% of full scale at 25 degrees Celsius and 0.15% of full scale at 60 degrees Celsius. It has an input offset drift of 90µV per degree Celsius and a gain drift of 15 ppm per degree Celsius.

The 1746-NI16V is factory calibrated with an accuracy of more than 0.05% with a range of 25 degrees Celsius. The module update time on the 1746-NI16V is not uniform, as it depends on the number of channels enabled together with the filter frequency applied. To minimize the damage of electrostatic emission, make sure to wear a grounding strip on the wrist. Hold the module from the front, avoiding contact with the backplane pins.
