The Allen Bradley 1746-IO12DC is an SLC 500 Digital Input/Output Combination Module. It has six points for each common; six 24 Volt DC input points and six 100 to 120 AC relay contact output points. The voltage range at which its input points operate is around 10 to 30 Volts, while its output points operate at 5 to 265 Volts AC between 47 to 63 Hertz, or 5 to 125 Volts DC between 47 to 53 Hertz. The backplane current load is 80 mA at 5 Volts DC or 60 mA at 24 Volts DC. The maximum current output of the 1746-IO12DC module is 2 A with a power output of 28 VA maximum. There is a signal delay in its “OFF” state of 45 milliseconds; this signal delay is only 35 milliseconds in the module’s “ON” state. There are .20 Watts for each input point and .133 Watts for each output point, while 3.90 Watts is the maximum thermal dissipation, and 1.84 Watts is the minimum.
The 1746-IO12DC is configured by using removable terminal blocks. It has several LED indicators, one for each input point, to simplifying troubleshooting procedures. This combination module is open-type equipment and should be mounted in a suitably designed enclosure that meets the operating requirements. The environment should typically be between -4 and 85 degrees Celsius with a 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity. The combination module is designed to fit any slot, except the 0 slot, which is reserved for the processor.
The entire 1746-IO12DC module provides 8 Amperes of continuous current. It has K1 to K6 relays and is CSA and C-UL certified in addition to offering NEMA standard ICS 2-230 noise immunity.
