The Allen Bradley 1746-IO12 is a 120 Volt AC SLC 500 Input/Output Digital Combination Module. It has six 100 to 120 Volt AC outputs and six 120 Volt AC inputs, with six points per common. Its input operates at a voltage range of 85 to 132 Volts AC, while output operates at a voltage of 5 to 125 Volts DC or 5 to 265 Volts AC. At 5 Volts, the backplane current is 90 mA; at 24 Volts, it is 70 mA. It has 0.27 Watts per input point and a 0.133 Watts per output point. Its maximum heat dissipation is 2.13 Watts, its minimum being 4.6 Watts, and the signal delay on the input and output points are 35 milliseconds in ON state and 45 milliseconds in OFF state.
The 1746-IO12 comes equipped with removable, color-coded terminal blocks. It has a normally open contact type output with a 1.5A nominal current at 12 Volts AC. The LED indicators on this combination module facilitate simpler troubleshooting by displaying the status of the I/O points; however, when the rack is not under processor control in the first few seconds of a power-up, the output LED lights will be on.
The 1746-IO12 is North American Hazardous Location Approved. It is certified by CSA for Class 1, Division 2 hazardous locations, operating best in a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and with a 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity. When in storage, it should be kept at a temperature higher than -4 degrees Celsius and lower than 85.
The 1746-IO12 can function unimpeded at vibrations of 2.5 G at 57 to 2000 Hertz and can withstand an electrical shock of up to 30 G while operating.
