Other Available Revisions for the 1746-FIO4I 1746-FIO4I//A
The Allen-Bradley 1746-FIO4I is a Fast Analog Combination Module for use with the SLC 500 family of programmable controllers. The SLC 500 family uses a wide range of features and options to offer flexibility and efficiency. The 1746-FIO4I module features 2 inputs and 2 outputs. This module is ideal for rapidly changing analog signals in high-speed applications. The inputs are filtered to block high frequency noise. For equipment such as molding machines and hydraulic presses, this fast-response module is ideal for controlling pressure and position.
The 1746-FIO4I converts analog signals to binary data which can be used by the SLC processor. The backplane power requirements for the 1746-FIO4I at 5V DC is 55mA and at 24V DC is 105 mA. The 1746-FIO4I has a decimal range of 0 to 32,764 at 13 bits with a resolution of 2.56348 μA/LSB. The module contains a circuit block which can be used to connect to your analog signal for processing. Users can wire the channels to be open-ended or differential. The circuit board also contains dip switches for convenience in selecting current and voltage. Additionally, the 1746-FIO4I contains LED indicators to relay information about operational status.
Analog components like the 1746-FIO4I should be positioned in the rack based on temperature and signal noise. For this reason, it should be away from AC or high voltage DC modules. It should be placed in the closest slot to the bottom of the enclosure for temperature control. This will help to avoid issues with heat dissipation from the modules in your chassis.
