The Allen-Bradley 1398-DDM-019 digital servo drive is a flexible piece of machinery designed for precise motion control in manufacturing settings. Operating within a voltage range of 88-265 VAC and a nominal input of 100-240VAC in 1-Phase, it excels at implementing Torque, position, and velocity control with impressive specifications: a maximum bandwidth of 300 Hz for Velocity loop, 1 ms speed for position loop, and a rapid 125 µs response time for current loop. This microprocessor-based controller interfaces easily with programming workstations via its RS232/RS485 interface, allowing transmission rates from 1200 to 19200 baud and can be networked with up to 32 1398 Digital Servo Drives. Designed to endure industrial circumstances, it performs reliably in temperatures ranging from -5ºC to 55ºC and provides a storage range of -40ºC to 70ºC, complimented by a humidity tolerance of 5% to 90%, non-condensing and a working altitude of 1500m (5000 feet). Inputs and outputs on the drive module cover the gamut from discrete to analog to digital to relay to an encoder output that can handle line frequencies up to 1 MHz and accept incremental encoders for use in providing feedback to the motor. Intelligent Power Module (IPM) technology is used in this unit to provide effective PWM control and safeguards against overcurrent, short circuits, and overtemperature as part of Allen-Bradley's ULTRA 200 series. It has autotuning technology to make installation easier and an inbuilt shielding filter to prevent electromagnetic distortion. This module stands out due to its superior cooling, which allows it to work with fuses of 20A and wires of 12 AWG. It operates between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius and weighs 2 kilos.
