The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 525 series 25B-D017N104 Variable Frequency Drive is an essential part of industrial automation. Its main function is to improve energy economy and motor control by allowing for accurate speed regulation of AC motors. This multipurpose drive allows for precise positioning control, even down to using Rockwell Automation's patented PointStop technology to reliably stop motor loads without the need for encoder feedback. It also provides point-to-point navigation and closed-loop feedback through an encoder card that may be added as needed. The 25B-D017N104 offers a wide range of control versatility for a variety of uses because of its many different control techniques, including Volts per Hertz (V/Hz), Sensorless Vector Control (SVC), Closed-loop Velocity Vector Control, and Permanent Magnet Motor Control. Included I/O channels provide communication and control, and they include two analog inputs, seven digital inputs (including six completely programmable inputs), one analog output, two opto-outputs, and two relay outputs. The built-in RS485 communication connector allows the drive to function as an RTU master, allowing up to 31 devices, such as multiple Allen-Bradley PowerFlex drives, to operate on a single RS485 network. The 25B-D017N104 has a rating of 480 volts AC at output, a current rating of 17 amps, and a wattage rating of 7.5 kilowatts, or 10 horsepower. In addition to being able to handle a wide variety of voltages, it also works with a wide variety of resistive and inductive ratings. The LED status indicators and built-in keyboard make the drive easy to operate and keep tabs on in real time. The IP20 certification of the enclosure ensures security, while the panel-mount design makes installation a breeze. The drive's small 8.66 x 4.29 x 7.24 inch (H x W x D) proportions further simplify setup.
