The 25-COMM-D DeviceNet adapter was manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation in the PowerFlex 525 series. It was designed to be a DeviceNet adapter for Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 525 series motor control drives. The 25-COMM-D adapter provides the host drive with a DeviceNet communication option and enables seamless data sharing between the drive and other devices in different applications. The 25-COMM-D DeviceNet adapter has node address and rate switches for setting its node address and its network data rate, a 40-pin female header for supporting communication cards, and 3 LED status indicators. The status indicators provide visual status updates for the adapter itself, the connected drive, and the DeviceNet network. The 25-COMM-D adapter also features a 5-pin DeviceNet connector. It is easy to connect the adapter to a PowerFlex 525 control module back cover so that the adapter can be installed on the host drive. The 25-COMM-D adapter draws its power from the host drive and from the DeviceNet network. The 25-COMM-D DeviceNet adapter supports polled, cyclic, and change of state (COS) data exchange options that allow seamless data exchange between the network and the adapter. This adapter can support data rates of 125, 250, or 500 Kbps, and it uses the DSI protocol. The 25-COMM-D adapter consumes 150 mA at 5 Volts that are supplied through the drive, and it consumes 60 mA at 24 Volts that are supplied through the DeviceNet network. The 25-COMM-D DeviceNet adapter’s temperature ratings include an operating temperature range of 14 to 149 degrees Fahrenheit and a storage temperature range of -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit.
