Allen-Bradley engineered the 22C-B017N103 module, a PowerFlex 400 ranges AC drive; this AC drive is a flexible drive that can be utilized in a wide range of applications, including belt conveyors, blowers and fans, pumps, mixers, machine tools, and packaging supplies. The 22C-B017N103 contains various safety measures that aid in the installation process. The first is ground fault protection, which ensures that the system operates reliably. It also incorporates electronic motor surplus protection, which extends the life of the motor. The 6kV transient fortification increases the robustness of the 380 to 480V AC system voltage. The drive can be controlled by an on-screen regulator bar, which is a tool that allows users to start, stop, and adjust the drive's speed orientation. The 22C-B017N103 also contains LED indicators that display fault status and system settings. The 22C-B017N103 includes an input that fire/life safety devices can supplement. The 22C-B017N103 also includes a PID (proportional, integral, and differential) regulator loop. The control loop is useful because it keeps a progression variable like flow or pressure constant at a certain point. The 22C-B017N103 operates by subtracting the PID feedback from the reference and generating an error value. This drive is compatible with driver serial interface communication modules such as BACnet, LonWorks, IP/EtherNet, and PROFIBUS. The basic RS485 communications can be used to program from a PC. The 22C-B017N103 can also be used in a multi-drop network configuration. It also has a serial converter component that allows it to connect to any regulator having a DF1 port.
