The Allen-Bradley PLC-5-80 is a processor module for the PLC-5 programmable controller series. It belongs to the enhanced series of PLC-5 processor modules. The Program, Run, and Remote modes can be selected through a keyswitch on the front panel of the PLC-5-80. The front panel also contains the physical interfaces for the communications ports including 4 channels which can be used as either remote I/O (scanner or adapter mode) or DH+ and one serial port which supports RS-232, RS-422, and RS-423. The PLC-5-80 provides 100K of user memory. The PLC-5-80 controller module is installed in the local chassis in the chassis slot on the left. The module supports 92 remote chassis, including 23 I/O racks. The number of I/Os supported are either 3072 (any mix) or 3072 inputs plus 3072 outputs (with 16/32-point modules).
