Other Available Revisions for the PLC-5-60L PLC-5-60L//A
The Allen Bradley PLC-5-60L is a standard programmable logic controller in the PLC-5 family. The controller when interfaced with the 1771-ALX extended local I/O adapter module creates an extended local I/O link. The link makes it easier and faster to scan extended local I/O chassis to a maximum of 16 chassis’. Even with the link created, the removal of the 1771-ALX does not alter the communication process to the other chassis on the intended local I/O link. It is not recommended to use the PLC-5-60L processor as an adapter for the local I/O.
The PLC-5-60L supports a cable length of no more than 100 feet between the processor and the adapter module. Otherwise, a remote I/O link which is not as fast as the extended local I/O link shout be utilized. The image data for the PLC-5-60L is addressable, depending on how the users initially configured the processor. To turn a PLC-5-60L channel to a scanner, an I/O status file must be explicitly defined (it stores data about all the racks connected to the processor/controller). Additionally, the PLC-5-60L features two Data Highway Plus ports for communication. Per each Remote I/O channel, the PLC-5-60L supports 23 active buffers. Note that block transfers in the active buffers and in the waiting queues are aborted once the PLC-5-60L is switched to the program mode. Although the PLC-5-60L has LED status indicators, and the programming screen also provides an additional status screen which can be used to monitor the status of the extended local I/O of the PLC-5-60L controller.
