The PLC-5-25 Classic PLC-5 Processor by Allen-Bradley is a standard processor module for the PLC-5 programmable controller system, which is used in a centralized and distribution system control. This processor is installed on the leftmost slot of the 1771 I/O chassis, and it is designed with 13 Kilo words of program memory which can be expanded to 17 to 21 Kilo words, and which supports an external EEPROM-based module for additional backup of data. This processor has an I/O connection capacity of 1024, with support for a maximum of 28 I/O chassis connection and 7 I/O rack connections, and it is programmed using the Ladder-logic and Sequential Function Chart (SFC) machine programming languages. The PLC-5-25 is located on a single leftmost I/O slot, and it draws 2.5 Amps backplane current at 5 Volts DC from the I/O Chassis. The PLC-5-25 can complete a discrete data scan for 1 millisecond over I/O rack connections, and it uses a maximum of 10 milliseconds to complete a remote I/O scan at 57.6 kilobits per second transmission speed.
This processor has an internal clock and calendar features, which has a timing accuracy of 1 program per scan, and this processor can be configured for use as a remote I/O scanner/adapter. It supports external 3.6 Volt battery modules, and it is compatible with 1771 I/O points modules. The PLC-5-25 uses the 2-slot addressing configuration for addressing any mixture of 1771 8-points I/O, and any pairs of 16-point I/O modules, and it also supports the 1 slot and ½ hardware addressing configuration. The PLC-5-25 has 1 communication port used for both the adapter and remote I/O scanner modes, and it communicates via the Allen-Bradley Data Highway Plus Link. It is built to operate at 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) temperature range at 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity condition, and it is stored at -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit). The PLC-5-25 weighs about 1.34 Kilograms (without an enclosure), and it is CE, C-TICK, UL, and CSA certified.
